Going to spectate my first full race day at Lime Rock tomorrow. Any one have any advice? What to bring, where to sit, where to park, etc. I’ve been once before to watch a race, but never for a full day.

For anyone else going look out for the silver GMC pick-up with the wood bed rails and the oppo sticker.

Gonna get there at the opening to get into the pits, and stay for the full day.

When I was there for Pirelli World Challenge we sat on the inside of Righthander, in the brown blotch on your image. The inside of uphill is also a good vantage point though I prefer something along the hill by turns 1-3.

In front of the Esses as you’ll be able to see the entire most interesting part of the track, and most of big bend (hoepfully not too many big trucks are parked and you can even see some of the braking zone into T1).

Cross the bridge to the other side and you’ll be able to see the entrance into T1, where 95% of all the passing is done.

On the outside by the downhill part... Usually where the biggest crashes happen and fastest corner of the track.

Right by the uphill, if you take pictures, this is where you may see some of the fastest least aerodynamic cars with the front end lifting up in the air. Good spot for pictures, though you need a good zoom lens as you’re a bit far from the track to see the jumps really well. Unless they use the chicane, in which case, no jumps.

Best spot is the infield hill overlooking the Esses, but it’ll be crowded. (seen at 0:08). There’s also the outfield hill overlooking the Straight (2:20). You can get pretty close to the cars at the Downhill (0:50, but only if that part of the paddock is open. That video was taken with no zoom.) but my favorite spot was the small bluff overlooking the No-Name Straight (1:33). I didn’t make my way to the uphill while I was there so I can’t comment on that.

Solid advice. However, they’re running the chicane so not a whole lot interesting is happening on the uphill.

This area was great today. Crowded under tree shade, but still tons of room.

Best spot is hands down the hill next to the left hander. Plenty of battling for position there with the occasional off track excursion. Bring something for shade, or lots of sunscreen. It was ridiculously hot today, so bring lots of beverages and dress appropriately. Saw someone collapse in the pits...

bring water, a good hat. near the esses are some trees, and a few trees near the outfield spectator area.

Spectator area before you go over the bridge...watched historic touring cars from there two years ago and still one of my most visceral experiences in 26 odd years of going there. The Esses is an absolutely beautiful vista and there is a lot of action to see.
